Emily + Ben's Countryside Wedding at Shadow Creek in Virginia!

destination wedding planner

Emily + Ben’s wedding was countryside beauty like I have never seen before. They said their vows overlooking the expansive rolling hills in Purceville, Virginia and had their reception in one of the most beautiful barns I have ever laid my eyes on. Planning from CA was a fun challenge and I was so honored that they brought me out for this day! We designed around Emily’s love of coral + blue + wild flowers + lace. We brought in special touches from her days of riding horses and showcased some of Ben’s favorite childhood memories too. We packed the barn with their closest family + friends and danced the night away!

Being back on the east coast was a real treat for me. As I landed, I was picked up by Emily’s sweet parents and given the quick tour of the DC area, with all the beautiful monuments and buildings in the background. I took in all that lush greenery I don’t get to see as much of out here in Southern California, and was welcomed with open arms as both Emily + Ben’s families prepped for a weekend of festivities.

Congrats E + B! I love you both!

Central Park Ballet Inspired Elopement Shoot- Featured on August Willows!

NYC, CT Destination Wedding Planner It’s just been one of those weeks where I can’t stop thinking about my time spent on the east coast. I used to frequently ride the train into the city from Greenwich, CT and people watch for hours. I’d walk The High Line with one of Bar Suzette’s famous chocolate crepes from Chelsea Market in hand, and take in the beauty of the city. It never got old to me.

Part of me wishes I was still back there to embrace the different cultures and see more of the country I missed out on. But then the other part knocks me back into reality. Do I really want to be buried under 5 feet of snow right now? No.

But on one of my countless trips across the country last year, I decided to gather my favorite vendors and do a shoot in the heart of Central Park. I picked up flowers from the cutest loft space in the flower district, gracefully transported them by way of subway and secretly set up a picnic behind a tree in a quaint spot of Central Park.

I can distinctly remember watching ballerinas perform at Grand Central Station, and it was their grace and beauty that ultimately inspired me to put together a “ballet” inspired elopement shoot. A friend of mine who I went to high school with happened to be living in the city and performing for a ballet company. I knew she would be perfect. She got dolled up at this chic salon, slipped into a BHLDN two piece tulle gown and pointe shoes and danced the afternoon away. She turned heads and grabbed the attention of passerby’s. It was at Bethesda Fountain that she danced to the sweet music of an opera singer in the distance and emulated what it would be like to get married in such a romantic spot. Don’t we all dream of something like that!

New York City will always hold such a special spot in my heart and I hope to return each year…relive old memories and make new ones. So excuse me as I go buy my plane ticket to NYC- should I go with Laguardia or JFK? Decisions, decisions.

Cozy Winter Beach + Plaid Affair Featured on The Westchester Wedding Planner!

New England Connecticut Wedding Planner Connecticut will always hold such a special spot in my heart. There are days where I just can’t help be reminiscence back on the charm of New England cottages or the beautiful beaches that bring a different element then what I get back at home in Southern California. But really, it’s the light that I just can’t get out of my head. It’s dreamy. Just pure dreamy.

I partnered up with Brooke of Brooke Allison Photography to put together a shoot on the beach in Fairfield, Connecticut to incorporate that dreamy light that I just can’t get enough of. We created a cozy winter affair with hints of beach elements, showing our brides that you can have the best of both worlds in the winter- a beach wedding despite the chilly days. I hope you get lost in these images as much as I have!

Vintage Bohemian Wedding Inspiration- Greenwich, CT

Today I woke up giddy with excitement! Spending a large majority of my year on the East Coast, I knew I had to take advantage of all the pretty colors in the Fall. Being a Cali girl, I had never seen anything like it until I had moved to Connecticut last year. My senses were overloaded as everywhere I turned, the leaves shined a different shade of green, red, orange, yellow, and every color in between.

With the exciting launch of Kelsey Rae Designs, I knew I had to have my “coming out” party! What better way than to create a style shoot that had my style, my work, and my stamp on it? I quickly brought together Connecticut’s best wedding vendors and got to work!

I wanted to infuse both East coast and West coast styles. The boho look that is so popular on the West coast brought a new edge to the timeless style you see so much of on the East coast. We decided to take different color ribbons to lay the length of the farm-style table, creating a new twist on the traditional table runner. The flowers created by the talented Bethany of Autumn Rose Floral Designs (LINK) were to die for! The vintage china curated by Lauren of Borrowed, a Vintage Inspired Company (LINK) were absolutely perfect in every way! I could not be more proud of how it turned out and I hope you love every image as much as I do!

It has been months in the making, but it was definitely worth the wait!
