There was something that just clicked when Jenna of Jenna Joseph Photography and I first sat down to chat about doing a style shoot together. We wanted to a winter shoot in the sunniest place there is. Challenge accepted. I was personally inspired by the stone walls at Journeys at Pechanga, after spending countless Sunday’s there sipping on mimosa’s and enjoying their brunch. Like most good ideas, this was born from a collaboration. Jenna and I had common goals- bring together the best of the best and create a timeless winter shoot that would inspire others in sunny SoCal to not give up hope of enjoying the comfort of winter. We used copper elements, because, well it’s copper. And it’s cool.
All I wanted to do was take a huge bite into the giant cinnamon roll cake, but I held back for the better of the shoot. Hey There Cupcake is literally the best there is. The cake she created with brushed copper and a muted blue/grey tone was better than anything I could have ever dreamt up. She’s magic. We sprinkled accessories on the bride from Petals and Stones to compliment the hand crafted dress by Eden Couture. The calligraphy runner created by Phoenix Feathers Calligraphy was breathtaking. I can never have enough of copper so when she decided to do the hand lettering in copper, I did a happy dance. Four Things Paper gave us some insane stationery and Hannah of Modern Bouquet provided the prettiest flowers my eyes ever did see. All of this came together on the white washed tables of Rustic Urban Events. The end product was perfection.
