Meredith + Scott's Modern Farmhouse Wedding at The Inn at Mattei's Tavern

Love was in the air as Meredith and Scott tied the knot in a picturesque ceremony at the beautiful Inn at Mattei's Tavern in Santa Ynez. This modern farmhouse wedding was a perfect blend of elegance, modern, fun and most importantly personal touches. With a color palette of white and black accompanied by neutral tones, their special day exuded sophistication and charm. From the unique seating chart to the thoughtful favors and delightful surprises, this wedding was a true reflection of the couple's love story.

As guests arrived at the Inn at Mattei's Tavern, they were greeted by the beauty of the modern farmhouse and the most insane florals on the chuppah. The breathtaking venue provided the ideal backdrop for the couple's romantic celebration. With its warm and inviting atmosphere, it perfectly complemented the couple's vision of an intimate gathering surrounded by their closest family and friends. I also had this crazy idea of putting them in the middle and doing a ceremony “in the rectangle” and having everyone surrounding them. Meredith + Scott trusted the vision and it was truly one of the coolest ceremony layouts I’ve ever done!

Meredith and Scott's wedding décor embodied understated sophistication. The couple's attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the stunning floral arrangements to the whimsical table settings. One of the highlights of the reception was the unique seating chart, which read "With love and intention, find your seat." This heartfelt message beautifully encapsulated their desire to create a warm and inclusive atmosphere for their loved ones. Meredith and Scott wanted their guests to feel cherished and appreciated. To achieve this, they surprised everyone with a jar of palo santo, a fragrant wood known for its calming properties. This thoughtful gift allowed their loved ones to take a moment of tranquility home with them, providing a lasting memory of the couple's special day, and double duties as their table assignment into the reception. A win-win!

To honor their engagement in Greece, Meredith and Scott incorporated olive trees and the Grecian owl into their wedding theme. The addition of these elements brought a touch of Mediterranean charm to the festivities. I had traveled to Greece a couple weeks before their big day and I came across a little owl, similar to what we had been using in all our design pieces and decided to bring it back and gift it to them. It was so special and we were able to use it to style their flat lays.

It's no secret that Meredith and Scott adore their sweet pup, Nat. To include their beloved dog in the celebration, we created "Nat's Ice Cream Bar" for their guests to enjoy. This delightful ice cream station offered a variety of delicious flavors, allowing everyone to indulge in sweet memories. We even had little ice cream cups made with Nat’s face on it and they read “Nat’s Ice Cream Bar.” The cutest touch for sure!

Meredith and Scott's wedding at the Inn at Mattei's Tavern was a true testament to their love for one another. From the modern farmhouse setting to the carefully chosen color palette that complimented The Inn well, every element reflected their love story. The incorporation of olive trees and the Grecian owl paid homage to their engagement in Greece, creating a sense of wanderlust and and desire to travel.

Through their thoughtful favors and the sweet homage to Nat with "Nat's Ice Cream Bar," Meredith and Scott ensured that their guests felt cherished and loved throughout the celebration. Their wedding was a beautiful beginning to their new journey as a married couple, filled with love, intention, and joyful memories that will last a lifetime. I love you both and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you two!
