Lucia + Brooks Wedding at Cabo Azul!
Can we talk about how photogenic this couple is! There is so much to note about this spectacular Pounders wedding series. The first being, this is another couple I (kind of) owe to my husband as Brooks has been his lifelong/childhood friend. (Actually, and funny enough, I knew Brooks before I met my husband). The Pounders family welcomed me with open arms, quickly becoming my second family when I started dating Matt. We were all so excited when a special woman named Lucia walked into his life. Fast forward three years and they're quickly becoming husband and wife!
Cabo became their special spot throughout their dating years so there was zero hesitation when I asked where the wedding would take place (and I kid you not the save the dates were mini donkey pinatas and they set the tone for the events that were to follow!). They of course married in the states first to make it (really) legal, in Lucia's hometown of Newport Beach at St. John Vianney Chapel followed by a wonderfully intimate dinner reception at the Balboa Bay Club. My favorite personal touch were the luggage tags that stated "meet us in Mexico."
A few weeks later we did just that and partied in style at Cabo Azul, closing out the year 2020 with a bang while celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. Pounders! Nothing was short of fabulous for their destination wedding weekend - from the NYE celebration at the hotel, to the welcome party at the beach complete with custom "Pounders Sliders," to their unforgettable and fun-filled wedding day. The ceremony site at this resort is to die for (check out the giant wooden cross and the church pews, which have always been a personal favorite) and as much as I loved every aspect and detail of the reception, the ceremony was by far my favorite part of the day! They even toasted with tequila and margarita mix for their unity ceremony... How can anyone compete with that! A mariachi band led guests to the cocktail hour area where guests were greeted with custom crafted margaritas and wine, and guests found their names and seating assignments on vibrant glass hearts of Cabo from a table top iron tree. Ok ok... the surprise fireworks were a very close second favorite moment because they were EPIC and the excitement and awe in everyone's reaction in that very moment will forever be ingrained in my head. There is no way I could've pulled this weekend off without a phenomenal team, Lola and Elsa are the greatest of all time, the hospitality and music never stopped, and Daniel's team captured every tiny detail with such ease and high energy. The accommodations, amenities, and staff were top notch, and we'd go back in a heartbeat. Can we? Forever dreaming of being on a beach in Cabo, Mexico.
