Geo Modern Seaside Wedding Inspiration- Del Mar, CA

L’Auberge Del Mar… Like THE L’Auberge Del Mar let Elyse (newly!) Whall of Plum & Oak Photo and I put together a wedding inspiration shoot, and I can assure you we stepped up our A-game on this one! Quickly gathering San Diego’s most sought after wedding professionals, we carefully curated a design that would surely make us stand out. We think we accomplished this, especially now that it can be seen on 100 Layer Cake! My heart flutters.

It is always funny how you can be so certain about something and then completely change your mind. This was the case with us, as we originally approached L’Auberge Del Mar with a completely different theme. As we walked the expansive lobby and deck that overlooked the ocean, we knew we had to change our design path. We spotted velvet chairs and a 70’s aura and knew we could play off both of those pieces. Their little succulent garden sitting off the restaurant patio inspired us and before we knew it, we had a Geo-Modern theme mapped out.

Our model Caitlin was striking. Pure perfection. (Fun Fact- she also happened to be my college roommate!) Switching between BHLDN’s Beilin Gown and The Dress Theory’s Cheyne dress by Houghton; she encompassed true modern beauty. The table was donned with a geometric succulent centerpiece and many other shapes that were carefully hand-picked to make the design come to life. Elyse tapped into her inner crafting skills and built the giant geometric structure you see our models connecting within. This became the focal point for the shoot and a way to show unity from within the overall design and between the bride and groom.
