Sara + Tony's Galway Downs Wedding

When Sara first reached out to me to help with the design of her wedding, I gushed hard. She’s a coordinator herself, so you imagine how honored I felt that she wanted to bring me on to help marry both her + her future hubby-to-be’s styles together. And the fact that her style was on trend + super rad, was just an added bonus. I literally hit the jackpot with these two.

You can imagine my surprise when I found out that Tony was more drawn to a traditional look, with draping and blush flowers + Sara was drawn to industrial modern, mixed metals + moody tones. Quite the stark contrast. I really tried to bring these two styles together with hints of softness in the draping at the ceremony site and touches of lighter florals to contrast the moody tones happening in other parts of the design.

The end result… perfection.

I grew to love these two so much. Sara is insanely talented herself + has THE best taste ever. A recipe for a good coordinator.

S + T, I wish nothing but the very best for you two! Thanks for letting me play a small part in your insanely dreamy wedding!

Amanda + Michael's Rooftop Wedding in San Diego!

San Diego Wedding Planner

Amanda + Michael make this world just a little bit cooler. It didn’t take too much to convince them to stray away from the conventional guest seating and do a laid back, lounge set up instead. Trend setting is my thing, so when they jumped at the opportunity to do something a little less traditional, I was excited AF.

It also never rains in socal, but mother nature decided to pay us a visit on this February weekend and pour on their rooftop wedding. No biggie though, The Andaz luckily had an expandable roof that came out and saved the day! The views were still gorg and the skies opened up for some great pics!

My favorite vendors came together to make this vision of open lounge seating a success! Witty Rentals provided all the rentals, and boy did they make that space look IN-SANE. The Bloom Babes killed it on the florals and Plum & Oak Photo captured all the sweet moments. The guests even got to chow down on some chicken + waffles (my personal fav!) so that basically sums up why this was one of the best nights ever.

Congrats A + M, you’re the best!

Emily + Ben's Countryside Wedding at Shadow Creek in Virginia!

destination wedding planner

Emily + Ben’s wedding was countryside beauty like I have never seen before. They said their vows overlooking the expansive rolling hills in Purceville, Virginia and had their reception in one of the most beautiful barns I have ever laid my eyes on. Planning from CA was a fun challenge and I was so honored that they brought me out for this day! We designed around Emily’s love of coral + blue + wild flowers + lace. We brought in special touches from her days of riding horses and showcased some of Ben’s favorite childhood memories too. We packed the barn with their closest family + friends and danced the night away!

Being back on the east coast was a real treat for me. As I landed, I was picked up by Emily’s sweet parents and given the quick tour of the DC area, with all the beautiful monuments and buildings in the background. I took in all that lush greenery I don’t get to see as much of out here in Southern California, and was welcomed with open arms as both Emily + Ben’s families prepped for a weekend of festivities.

Congrats E + B! I love you both!

Caitlin + Josh's Wedding at BRICK!

San Diego Wedding Planner

Caitlin + Josh, you two make me smile. And I’m pretty sure you make everyone around you smile too. They are one of those couples that just radiate that oh-so-sweet love. The type of love that moves you. The love that makes you think, this is it. This is real.

They knew what they were doing when they hired my friends The Bloom Babes + Elyse of Plum & Oak Photo. The florals were enough to make my heart skip a beat and the pictures that Elyse was able to capture were insane. It was a day at BRICK I’ll never forget and a couple that has truly left an impression on my heart.

Christina + Logan's Maderas Golf Club Wedding!

San Diego Wedding Planner

Christina + Logan are a dream. You know, one of those couples that you just strive to be like. #goals.

I’ve known them for years and coordinated weddings with Christina in the past, so it was truly the biggest honor of all when she decided to intrust me with the biggest day of her life. We had the best time going through the planning process together and seeing her visions all come to life. She wanted an elegant day that showed their fun personalities! Logan was emotional seeing Christina during their first look, their tender love was apparent to everyone who was there to witness it, and the moves we all got to experience on the dance floor were epic!

Congrats C + L, you're my favorite!

Anna + Wes Married at Green Acre Campus Point!

San Diego Wedding Planner Anna + Wes we’re one of those dream couples to work with! From the first meeting I had with them, I knew they were something special. Their love for each other was contagious, and they showed that true love prevails through any circumstance. Wes landed himself in the hospital the day before the wedding, fighting his fight with CF. We pushed on and lucky for everyone, he got released a few hours before they were set to say, “I do,” and everything went off without a hitch! They inspire me in so many ways. They travel the world together, bike their way through life together and simply love each other.

Their wedding day was perfect. A light sprinkle in the morning and clear blue skies by the time the ceremony rolled around. They got married in Green Acre’s organic garden and wanted the simple beauty of the space to shine. They vowed to love each other through anything life threw their way. It was perfect.

Congrats to A + W! If only we can all find a love like the one you two have. xo

Central Park Ballet Inspired Elopement Shoot- Featured on August Willows!

NYC, CT Destination Wedding Planner It’s just been one of those weeks where I can’t stop thinking about my time spent on the east coast. I used to frequently ride the train into the city from Greenwich, CT and people watch for hours. I’d walk The High Line with one of Bar Suzette’s famous chocolate crepes from Chelsea Market in hand, and take in the beauty of the city. It never got old to me.

Part of me wishes I was still back there to embrace the different cultures and see more of the country I missed out on. But then the other part knocks me back into reality. Do I really want to be buried under 5 feet of snow right now? No.

But on one of my countless trips across the country last year, I decided to gather my favorite vendors and do a shoot in the heart of Central Park. I picked up flowers from the cutest loft space in the flower district, gracefully transported them by way of subway and secretly set up a picnic behind a tree in a quaint spot of Central Park.

I can distinctly remember watching ballerinas perform at Grand Central Station, and it was their grace and beauty that ultimately inspired me to put together a “ballet” inspired elopement shoot. A friend of mine who I went to high school with happened to be living in the city and performing for a ballet company. I knew she would be perfect. She got dolled up at this chic salon, slipped into a BHLDN two piece tulle gown and pointe shoes and danced the afternoon away. She turned heads and grabbed the attention of passerby’s. It was at Bethesda Fountain that she danced to the sweet music of an opera singer in the distance and emulated what it would be like to get married in such a romantic spot. Don’t we all dream of something like that!

New York City will always hold such a special spot in my heart and I hope to return each year…relive old memories and make new ones. So excuse me as I go buy my plane ticket to NYC- should I go with Laguardia or JFK? Decisions, decisions.

Santorini Shoot Featured on Wedding Chicks!

San Diego Wedding Planner When Cavin of Cavin Elizabeth Photography asked me to help execute her vision of a Greece inspired wedding shoot, I was definitely on board! If only I could have written off a trip to Santorini and back. Wishful thinking! What we were able to put together in San Diego was timeless and beautiful. We brought in all whites and simplicity in the table scape that laid against the white walls of Moniker Warehouse. We took a quick drive to Coronado Island where we happened to come across a white stucco home with a blue door, that looked like it belonged straight out of Greece. Lucky for us, we just had to drive 15 minutes to get the feeling of being in another country. Not exactly my idea of “let’s travel to Greece” but one I had to be okay with for the purpose of knocking out a killer shoot!

I hope this shoot inspires you all to do something different, embrace travel and love what is in your own backyard! Thanks for making this one extra special San Diego!

Kathryn + Travis- La Jolla Engagement

San Diego Wedding Planner What happens when a California boys meets a Carolina girl? They fall deeply in love, get engaged and start planning the wedding of a life time. Kathryn + Travis are that couple. The couple that radiates beauty and love for each other. The couple that met through a friend only to find that they were destined to be together forever. Some of us only dream of that love, and they get to live out that dream. I couldn’t be more happy for them!

I am so thankful for Devon Donnahoo Photography for letting me come along for the day! Kathryn was dolled up in the most beautiful gown from The Dress Theory. I was there to help with the shoot and also witness one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen on the La Jolla coast.

Congratulations Kathryn + Travis!

Indian Meets the Beach- Featured on Green Wedding Shoes!

San Diego Wedding Planner I distinctly remember the day I had lunch with my good friend + Catering Manager at the Hilton Mission Valley, Morgan Wessells, and my beloved partner in crime, Elyse of Plum & Oak Photo. We drank wine, and ate, brainstormed, and drank some more wine. That’s really when our creative minds got to work dreaming up one of the most unique set-ups I’ve done to date. It was over wine that we decided to take on a challenge- mix Indian boho vibes with a beachy feel. The masterpiece we dreamt up came to life with San Diego’s best vendors. My heart still swoons.

We brought the All-American guy together with the most stunning Indian bride covered in henna. I had my sites set on working with Pow Wow and boy was I a giddy soul the day I got to roam their warehouse. It was heaven. The florals were OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD. The Dainty Lion really outdid herself on this one folks! The biggest challenge of the day came in setting up the chairs at the ceremony site in a half circle. Don’t give the girl with OCD and perfectionist-syndrome that job. Lesson learned. My favorite part though was the table scape. I remember every weird look I got when I explained my vision and squealed in excited for the elephant plates. I wouldn’t have done it any other way. The hints of fun in a classic white setting was pure dreaminess.

Amy + Tyler's Portland Engagement Session- Featured in Oregon Bride!

Portland Oregon Wedding Planner It’s no secret I absolutely love to travel. So when Elyse of Plum & Oak Photo and I decided to make a spur of the moment trip to the beaver state, I didn’t think twice. Ticket bought.

Prior to our trip, we connected with Amy + Tyler and completely fell head over heels in love with their engagement story. As Amy put it, “Tyler planned a wonderful weekend to Hood River last summer and found an amazing sunset hike for us to do. It is not unusual for us to go on hiking adventures so I thought nothing of it. We had a wonderful day visiting breweries and walking along the river that weekend before heading out on the gorgeous gorge hike. There was no one else on the hike that day - something very unusual for the Columbia River Gorge on a Saturday in the summer. At the peak of the hike he recapped our love story from the beginning going through all the highs and lows, or "peaks and valleys" as we call them - something we have always done. He proposed at the top of the hike with views of Mt. St. Helens and Adams in the distance and wildflowers blooming throughout the valley. It was perfect, romantic, and just us. I would not have wanted it any other way.” We knew this couple was special, and the perfect e-sesh was a must.

Lucky for us, we got to wander the streets of Portland with Amy + Tyler and do the most rad things ever. We took over the long sectional couch at the Ace Hotel, sipped some coffee at Stumptown, talked our way into the super exclusive Multnomah Whisky Library and walked aimlessly down the sidewalks of this quirky town. It was perfect.

Boarding the plane home was bittersweet. There is something so funky and special about Oregon, it’s contagious. And you can definitely sign me up to “Keep Portland Weird!” I guess another trip up north is in store! My bags are packed. I'm ready!

Thousand Oaks Engagement + Southern California Bride Feature!

Southern California LA Wedding Planner Engagement season has me feelin’ all sorts of things. I am so excited to meet all you pretties this year and hear your love stories. It literally makes my heart happy.

So to get us all in the mood, here’s a proposal shoot I got to be apart of last summer that had us hiking up all sorts of LA mountains. Cheese cake (literally cubes of cheese) + calligraphy on grape leaves + florals to die for. It was pretty in every way.

My favorite east coast film photographer TBM Photography partnered up with Landino Photo to pull off this stunner. Bringing together my fellow Temecula favorite, Phoenix Feathers Calligraphy, and the insanely talented LA based florist, La Petite Gardenia, we knew this was going to be special. We climbed boulders, scaled mountains, escaped a few rattle snakes and set up the most beautiful picnic this field ever did see. And by rattle snakes, I mean real rattle snakes. Don’t try this at home.

Whether your engagement story is simple + sweet or elaborate + dramatic, I can’t wait to hear it all. It’s so fun knowing that your fiancés creativity gets to shine… all followed by a YES!

Carli + David Married at Wiens Family Cellars!

Temecula San Diego Wedding Planner There is just something about Christmas that literally puts a smile on my face the day after Thanksgiving and doesn’t leave until January 1st, when our tree officially retires for the year. Being around family is the best thing ever and playing out traditions makes me a happy gal. This Christmas is going to be a little different though. This Christmas is going to be missing my carefree and sweet sister Carli. Because we’re in a season in life where family is created, multiplied and expanded into something much greater. This year Carli is spending Christmas with her new hubby, and although I’ll miss running down the stairs with her in our matching pajama’s, and opening our stockings to find donuts, I know this is life. Life that’s always changing. And changing to make all our lives a little bit brighter.

I am just so happy that my sister was able to find the person she will spend the rest of her life with. Someone who she will now share holidays with and spread the family traditions with. I thought it was only fitting to reminisce on their beautiful wedding day at Wiens Family Cellars.

I’ll miss fighting over the monkey bread, Carli. Merry Christmas!

Cozy Winter Beach + Plaid Affair Featured on The Westchester Wedding Planner!

New England Connecticut Wedding Planner Connecticut will always hold such a special spot in my heart. There are days where I just can’t help be reminiscence back on the charm of New England cottages or the beautiful beaches that bring a different element then what I get back at home in Southern California. But really, it’s the light that I just can’t get out of my head. It’s dreamy. Just pure dreamy.

I partnered up with Brooke of Brooke Allison Photography to put together a shoot on the beach in Fairfield, Connecticut to incorporate that dreamy light that I just can’t get enough of. We created a cozy winter affair with hints of beach elements, showing our brides that you can have the best of both worlds in the winter- a beach wedding despite the chilly days. I hope you get lost in these images as much as I have!

Cinnamon + Earth Shoot on 100 Layer Cake!

Temecula San Diego Wedding PlannerThere was something that just clicked when Jenna of Jenna Joseph Photography and I first sat down to chat about doing a style shoot together. We wanted to a winter shoot in the sunniest place there is. Challenge accepted. I was personally inspired by the stone walls at Journeys at Pechanga, after spending countless Sunday’s there sipping on mimosa’s and enjoying their brunch. Like most good ideas, this was born from a collaboration. Jenna and I had common goals- bring together the best of the best and create a timeless winter shoot that would inspire others in sunny SoCal to not give up hope of enjoying the comfort of winter. We used copper elements, because, well it’s copper. And it’s cool.

All I wanted to do was take a huge bite into the giant cinnamon roll cake, but I held back for the better of the shoot. Hey There Cupcake is literally the best there is. The cake she created with brushed copper and a muted blue/grey tone was better than anything I could have ever dreamt up. She’s magic. We sprinkled accessories on the bride from Petals and Stones to compliment the hand crafted dress by Eden Couture. The calligraphy runner created by Phoenix Feathers Calligraphy was breathtaking. I can never have enough of copper so when she decided to do the hand lettering in copper, I did a happy dance. Four Things Paper gave us some insane stationery and Hannah of Modern Bouquet provided the prettiest flowers my eyes ever did see. All of this came together on the white washed tables of Rustic Urban Events. The end product was perfection.

Makeup Inspiration in the Orange Groves - Featured on Style Me Pretty

Elyse of Plum & Oak Photo and I have continued our recent venture, #ThePrettyProject (pretty inspiration for the creative folk and those that want to be) and thought it would be fitting to showcase one of our favorite makeup artists, Alyssa Ledesma! Since starting #ThePrettyProject we have seen that we are raising the bar for creativity in our area of Temecula, and we couldn’t be more excited to see it featured as the #BridalBeautyBreakdown three weeks in a row on Style Me Pretty! temecula wedding planner

We asked Alyssa to create three different looks for rehearsal dinner, bridal shower or wedding day of make up inspiration. We had her arrive ready to go at Wiens Family Cellars in Temecula and helped get all her gear out past the vineyards, to a very quiet orange grove in the distance.

It was the perfect spot to sip some champagne, work some floral magic and showcase three very beautiful ladies. I quickly went to work constructing a few flower arrangements from flowers I purchased at our local farmers market and Elyse took over shooting! It was perfect.
